Some people say multitasking is a great skill and some people disagree with that. Mindset or multitasking is an issue of much debate. - Achieve concentration. When you are in the proper state of mind you will have an effortless focus on your work or activities. If you can observe your thoughts without judgment they will flow right along with your thoughts.
- Be in alignment. Being in the proper state of consciousness does not mean ignoring others and being in alignment with them does not mean ignoring yourself. A balance between the two is healthy and promotes productivity. If you are highly distracted, the energy you lose from being aloof can be replaced by feelings of resentment and anger. However, if you are fully focused you can diffuse any anger by simply turning your back away from the person or thing that upsets you.
- Control anger. People often assume that they cannot be affected by others’ feelings. In fact, it is perfectly possible to channel your anger in a positive direction. When in the proper state of mind anger turns negative and can cause more problems than it solves.
- Become more flexible. When in a normal state of being, we tend to be rigid and unwilling to change. When in a state of mindfulness however, it is easier to adapt to changes in our environment and ourselves. Adapting usually results in improved performance.
There are many other benefits to having a good state of awareness. These benefits include increased creativity, improved sleep patterns and increased well-being. The ultimate benefit is that it gives us greater control over our lives. When in this state, we can make better decisions, be less impulsive and experience less stress. I don’t know about you but when I am trying to accomplish something and two tasks are calling my attention, I am probably distracted and much less productive. People who multitask by dividing their time between two things are spending their valuable time doing tasks that are really unproductive, and wasting precious minutes that could have been spent working on the more important ones.

Studies have also shown that multitasking is very bad for productivity because it breaks down our focus. Because we are so focused on all of these tasks, we do not have enough time to fully complete the tasks that we start.
